Manila Megastack 6 returns as the festival will start from November 29 to December 4, 2016 at PokerStars LIVE at City of Dreams Manila. The series will have a total of fourteen official Asia Player of the Year (APOY) events. 

The Main Event buy in is ₱25,000 (22,500+2,500) with a starting stack of 30,000. Levels at 30 minutes. The schedule features a ₱6 Million guaranteed Main Event, ₱2 Million guaranteed Kick-Off with a ₱10,000 (8,800+1,200) Buy In and the NLH Freezeout tournament, plus a ₱100,000 Single Day High Roller and a variety of side events and satellites.

Manila Megastack 6, a success. Pokerstars Live Manila was able to exceed the guarantee on Day 1 A alone.  284 players brave the felt as it started at 6pm December 2, 2016. Current prize pool as of writing (Day 1 A) at Php 6,198,300.

Day 1 B starts at 2pm, December 3, 2016. Expecting to see growth in numbers as players come to test their poker skills. Starting stack of 30k and a 30 minute per level and a prize pool that can only get bigger. Players will definitely rush in to joined this event.

PokerCast Asia predicts that the guaranteed prize will be doubled by Day 2. Megastack 6 may be able to beat the previous record of Megastack 5 with 478 entrants last May 2016.

At the end of Day 1 A, only 73 players have survived. They would come and meet again on Day 2. Leading the pack is Shinobu Tanaka from Japan with 324,500 chips. He is followed by Archie Mariano from the Philippines with 303,000 chips, proceeded by Ken Hartono from Indonesia with 258,000 chips and Michael Kim Falcon Ravn from Denmark with 248,500 chips. To complete the top 5 of Day 1 A, William Te from the Philippines scored 245,5000 chips today.

A prediction bound to happen. PokerStars Live Manila Team proved that skills and strategy is the game of the league. Beating their own numbers, Day 1 B ends with a solid 362 players. A number which is already a grandeur for other organizers to beat.

Megastack 6 crashes all the numbers by bringing in a total of 646 entrants — becoming the largest international poker tournament in the Philippines at ₱25,000+ buy-in.  Previous record was held by the 2015 APPT Manila Main Event at 585 players, they successfully broke their own numbers.

Day 2

95 players will cash for a share of the ₱14,098,950 prize pool.

Min cash at: ₱41,300 Top Prize at: ₱2,771,000 (includes ₱100,000 package to 2017 ACOP for the Megastack Championship event).

According to Fred Leung, 34 countries are represented in the Main Event led by Philippines (23%), Japan (16%), and Taiwan (11%). The success of this tournament relies on the great support of the local players and a continuing patronage to poker players steadily loving Manila.

Day 2 will begin with 158 starters and begins at 12pm noon on Sunday.
